Unfortunately, Senate Bill 560 did not pass this year. Save a Kitty FCP has officially kicked off their 2008-2009 campaign to get this bill passed. It would implement TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) statewide and save thousands of feral cats and free-roaming cats from dying in our state shelters each day. WV taxpayers spend over 3 million dollars annually picking up, sheltering, feeding stray animals only to have the animal euthanized because it was not adopted. This money could be better spent sterilizing these cats and saving their lives. Did you know your money was being spent this way???? Please contact your Senators and House members and tell them to pass any bill relating to "The care and management of feral cats". It is the proven method for over-population control and is the most cost-effective and humane method. We need your help to make this happen.
