Just a reminder to all our colony caretakers, with the cold weather upon us, your cats need a little extra help in keeping warm. Shelters with cedar chips and straw will help insulate the cat's body heat and keep them warmer in this cold weather. Shelters with insulation are the best. If you need to provide a shelter in an emergency, a rubbermaid tote with a styrofoam cooler inside (along with straw) is perfect for them. Just cut a hole large enough for them to enter and exit. Remember to provide plenty of food and fresh water, as it quickly freezes. We always need help taking care of these wonderful animals. If you are willing to feed a colony on a daily basis or help out in some way, contact one of our Board members. Bless you for caring. |
